Insimbi Aluminium Alloys is a Johannesburg-based secondary aluminium smelter who manufactures various aluminium products in the form of aluminium pellets, ingots and other shapes for various industries, including but not limited to the steel industry. The Plant also manufactures copper-based alloy ingots.
The plant has modern laboratory facilities ensure efficient analytical control in terms of chemical and physical excellence.
Insimbi Aluminium Alloys currently uses a reverberatory furnace and a Tilting Rotary Furnace (TRF) for Aluminium ingot production and two 500kg Induction furnaces for the copper –based alloy melting.
The capacity on the aluminium plant is approximately 500mt – 600mt pm and 80-100mt pm for copper based alloys.
The plant is fully environmentally compliant in terms of the Air Emissions legislation and are ISO 9001:2008 accredited for a Quality Management System.
Natural gas and is used as energy source for melting.
